Congrats! You're the Marshmallow Fluff

This is the time of season, when I decide if I'm going to do another year of the movie a day challenge on my movie blog, or join in on a different challenge?  I had planned a bunch of Hallowe'en themed projects for this year, but none of them were completed in time for Hallowe'en, as I needed to wait till the stores were selling Hallowe'en merchandise. So, this cut my actual project time down to a couple of weeks. The tarot cards have been talking about ending a cycle, beginning a new one and not taking things so seriously.  I'm the type of person who over thinks everything. I will get an idea, begin the planning stage, and within a few days start asking "what is my goal of this, why am I doing it, how am I going to get it done?"  and most of the time, talk myself out of it all together; or just end up feeling so pressured and overwhelmed that I give up.

I have a really difficult time finishing projects. One of the reasons I did the original movie a day challenge few years ago.

I've also been feeling guilty about not blogging on this bloggy-blog the last few years. Giving all my love and attention to the movie blog and recently, my youtube.  So, plan B was suppose to have been a project to blog solely on here.  That fell apart at the seams without me even realizing it.

This brings me to my last post, where I was talking about the way society has become whipped cream and blah blah blah.

I woke up this morning and realized that somehow in the last 48hours, I became whipped cream.

What was the plan B? It was simply to throw out the dateline for the Hallowe'en projects. Instead of  running around like a small tornado trying to cram it all into two weeks time span; I decided to settle into the idea of doing them over the course of the year. That way, when next year comes around, projects are done I just have to edit the final footage. So to speak.

Perfect! Great! Makes total sense!   Only, half of the projects would fit better on the movie blog, and all of them fit better on youtube.  So sort of back where I started. Sort of.  This is where my facebook was suppose to come into play.  As I am part of a blogging foodie group, I need to use my facebook to promote the group. Fine, that part was done.  Or was it?  My facebook is from the prehistoric age of facebook.  Needless to say, issues and glitches every time I tried to change settings to share stuff.

Heads up for plan C. Become a public figure. Create a new and improved page for the group showings and as a place to link the projects. Which worked smooth. So so smooth. Problem solved right. Right?  Yeah, for the most part. Only, since I've been working on there, adding what needs to be added for the group and building the page; I realize the project has already failed. Already gone off the path and morphed into something completely different.

This would be the whipped cream. I've turned into the internet society's version of whipped cream I just ranted about.  How did that happen?

Worst part of this; is that when I originally got the idea for the project few weeks ago, I knew it was only a starting point. That it was meant to morph into something else, or lead me down a different direction. Hell, it was even in the cards! The Fool card telling me to have faith and just dive in, the Tower and Ten of Swords telling me endings and destruction would be needed to grow, the Hermit and Final Judgement talking about new windows of opportunity, the Three of Pentacles talking about art in all it's form.

Moral of today's realization; you don't always see the big picture till the linkage is hubbed together. Yeah, basically, I'm trying to be cute when I say one thing leads to another even when you don't think they connect.

And before anyone asks why I titled this marshmallow fluff when I'm talking about whipped cream...it's got a slight more substance than cream. That and it's sticky. Linkage, connections, sticking things together...that would be my over thinking again.

Till next time

p.s. there's a link to the new facebook in that fluff.

Random October 2017

I was coming in here to post a photo. Then I changed my mind.

I had just posted to instagram, with a picture I'd done for Hallowe'en. Every so often, I've been doing a countdown for the season. Today the theme was bats.

Doesn't matter. None of it in fact matters. In fact, it mattered so little that I just took nearly two months off from any kind of socializing online; and the only one's who seemed to notice were the two instagram followers who unsubscribed.  Dude, I really hate the fact that everything I do in life now is subheaded in my mind with "how's that going to look on video?"

I am a dinosaur. I know this, and own up to it very much so. I grew up in an age where not everyone got to be the star attraction, because not everyone had the talent. Now, talent is not required.  Well, that's not completely true now is it? You have to be talented at selling yourself.  You have to be able to wiz around the twitter and whatever else is the tool of power and hold that crown of fate in a bare handed white knuckle grip of fearless determination while hoping the fake modesty rings true enough.

I can't do any of that.

I'm just a 43 year old woman who doesn't fit. Hell, I no longer even fit in my own dress.  There is a running theme in a lot of vampire stories, that points out how the vampires get stuck in the era that they became vampires; and how they need to constantly have something/someone new to keep them remotely in touch with modern living. That's a cliche for a reason. This dinosaur has hit that cliched wall.

I don't get society in 2017. Lest not beyond the idea that we have become nothing but whip cream. I hate whip cream.

Countdown says : 16 Days till Hallowe'en 2017

Still the Ghoul Next Door; Dude

Spudguns!  I've got to make it a habit to start blogging on here again. One of the reasons I've been doing stuff on youtube the way I have, was to be able to add it here. And my laziness has gotten me sidetracked big time.

Anyone else not happy with the latest goings on with Twin Peaks? Seriously, we waited over twenty five years for it, and it's just...right...you're getting me aren't you? No, you all dig it totally and I'm the only one who is disappointed by the new season of it.

Sure, take the side of the famous tv show and not the ghoul.

Here's what I had to say a few weeks ago on my youtube.

March 29th 2017

Spudguns!  Hows it wherever it is you are today?  It's 11:42am EST where I am, and it's holding steady at +1C with a windchill of -5C.  Now that that's out of the way...

I've got a few new videos up on my youtube channel. Some of them are movie related, some food, and some occult/tarot.  As you know my lovely Spudguns! the major aspects of my life.  But, I'm now toying with the idea of sectioning off the movie/cooking stuff - which is what my movie blog is all about - by going full on horror hostess. Like, costume. Or the very lest, one outfit I use just for those vids. That way, the "spiritual" stuff isn't...yeah sounds like too much work and needless pomp to me too.  I've done the costume and wig in the past more than once, and though it makes it more suitable, it's been done to death.

So what do you think...should I?

I was going to add the next episode of the one show here with a tarot video, but damn it, I'm too lazy. So here's the link to my youtube if you want to see what I'm blubbering on about  (Ardeth Blood the Ghoul Next Door)    If you think I need to Elvira it up, then leave me a comment on there please. And if you haven't subscribed to me on there, please do. I need to feel loved and desired.

I have to admit, after two years of having the channel, today I saw I finally have a category. I was very excited. When I logged in to it this morning, I found there were a couple of other youtubers listed in my "related channels".  Yay me! And it only took two years for it to happen. Who said success isnt' sweet served frozen.

Honestly, I don't remember it being this difficult to translate my written wittiness and hyperactive humour into physical performance before.

Anyways, till later...Creeping Screams!

March 2017 6th

Oh my gremlins!  I have been having one of those...yeah.  Well, my lovely Spudguns! I've been meaning to come in and do this post for like a month. I just haven't found the time, which is zero excuse I know.

We are now in the Venus retrograde which started on March 4th and runs until April 15th.  This means, that all relationships and money...yes money as Venus is the planet of wealth and abundance; will be effected during this time. And trust me, the last few hours of my life proves that.

For those of you that have been reading my movie blog, you know I had started hosting an all vampire movie and book club last year called Night Bleeds. You might also know that I have my "what that movie inspired me to do" series of posts. Lots of times, I'll do the "inspired by" stuff along with the book/movie club. Well, I decided to take this one step farther, and have begun doing some of them as videos for my youtube channel.

Here's episode one.

Blurred out in September

This just proves that no matter how good I think I am at taking photos, I'm really crap at it. Timing is everything, and my timing is so off.

Spudguns! Been way too long, which is a bad habit I've gotten into. I'm trying to break that habit, and a few other bad ones.  Some of you might know that all my blogging love has been put towards my movie blog the last few years. Where, not only do I talk about movies, I am part of a movie and food blogging group called Food n'Flix Club. Where we create dishes inspired by movies every month. And, where I've been writing my never ending soap opera. My blog not the food group silly silly spudguns!

Yes, I know, I have the crafting projects and the "supernatural style hunter's guide" crafts still to finish. They've been started...just haven't worked on them in a while. See, bad habits.

One of the things keeping me busy in the real world of not blogging, is that I've been doing tarot card readings. And I got to tells ya, sometimes, what you learn about people by doing these is not worth risking your time, energy or health. Still have a migraine from the last one the other day.

And this beautiful man beside me is Lady Fantasia LaPremiere, 2015 winner of Wiggins Wig Wars, and multi time winner of Queen of the North.  aka my buddy John. Who's ability to make a vegan chocolate and raspberry cake is a bad habit everyone needs to learn to love.

And now coffee. kiss kiss noise

Happy Hallowe'en

Just wanted to fly in here my little bat-droppings and wish everyone a happy Hallowe'en.

And if you've missed my 13 Days of Hallowe'en on my movie blog, I have been mixing up the treats with posts both that are Hallowe'en recipes and movies. Days 1-12 are up, with Day 13 coming tonight.  There's even pie.

now I'm heartbroken

I was feeling nostalgic and went to look at some old videos my friends and I had made, which were on one of our old websites, only to find they are missing. When I went to the old photobucket account, it says the account is empty.
What the hell???  I know they were uploaded in 2006 but still...

Anyways, those videos are lost forever as are the photos from that time frame in my life. In an odd strange way, I guess it's the universe's way of telling me it's beyond time to get over that point in my life. Those people as much as I loved them, have long since moved on in their lives.

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to those you care about, you find yourself in front of a blank account.  The love gone, the memories wiped clean and yourself scratching your head.

July 29th 2015

I've just returned to using facebook after 5 years of not...so if you are in the Thunder Bay area and would like to book a tarot reading with me, you can do so either through my profile (on the sidebar here) or by the Bliss Cafe Thunder Bay page.
The readings at the Bliss Cafe are normally on Friday afternoons.  But I don't limit my bookings to just that.  Which is why I have returned to using facebook myself, to make it easier for people to book outside of Bliss Cafe if they find Fridays are not good for them.

Shameless promotion out of the way...

We have a second Full Moon this weekend. Which makes it a Blue Moon. I think I mentioned it the other week on here...it's significant on a few levels. One being that this weekend is Lammas, and because it changes the order of the way the season's moons are counted. (yeah I still don't understand that part myself. New Moon then Full Moon turns to Full Moon then New Moon. Or something)

July 27th 2015 Ugh!

So I had a nasty computer virus, and have been without a computer for the last 4 days.  It's amazing how much housework you can get finished when you don't have the computer to distract you.  Though, went a bit stir crazy for the first few hours. Kept automatically walking into the area of the apartment that I've been using for my computer zone, automatically putting my coffee down and then have to snap out of autopilot cause, the desk was empty. Right, and since I do not have internet on my phone;  I spent half my time calling my mother asking her to look stuff up. Not the slickest moments of my weekend.

I did manage to get a sewing project half way completed. So that's bonus. Only problem now, there are way too many emails to stiff through.

And of course, it had to happen on a weekend when the temps were +29C with +39C humidex, so it was a staying indoors sort of weekend. Not that I take my pale self outside too often anyways.
We're sitting currently at +30C with a +40C...melting would be the catch phrase of the day.

Okay, just really wanted to post something after having been without a computer...

When did zombies become the new black?

So if witches are the new zombies, when did zombies become the new vampires?

I don't get zombie culture, sorry but I don't.  With that said, I love the tv show iZombie.  Maybe because it's more like a vampire show then a typical zombie movie? That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.
As a non zombie fan, but a vampirologist, I find myself face first sometimes in zombie culture. They do cris-cross, and some can argue are off shoots of the same thing.   Yeah, had that argument many many times before. Believe it or not, I am on the side that they are indeed the same thing only really more like cousins then the same species.

Anyways, just when did the popular mindset jump off the coffin and onto the brains bandwagon?  Must have happened in the last couple of years while my back was turned.

Speaking of witches and vampires and all that sort of stuff, I did a post on my movie blog this morning about my thoughts on the remake of the Craft. Just a few lines really.  And this is vampire theme week on there as well.

That's about all for now...kiss kiss noise.

Tarot Talk Episode 4

Here's the next installment in my tarot series. Again, from February 2015, this one has to do with the 3 of Cups and the Page of Cups.

I am working on some new themes for videos, I know I need to be more relaxed with the way I present the tarot. Somewhere along the last few years I lost myself. So, yeah...I'm also trying to figure out a way to bring some of my other blog topics into video form, without it being too...well too.

Till later...kiss kiss noise

Coffee and Tarot...tarot episode 3

Spudguns! This is the next video I did back in February in my tarot series. It's a bit more comedic, with many coffee breaks and me stumbling over the words I was trying to express. The cards were the 10 of swords and the 6 of wands.

May 10th 2015

Spudguns!   Yes, I am trying to get back to writing on this blog in a more regular fashion.

So you know we have yet another Mercury retrograde coming up next week right?  No? You didn't know that?  Well, we do. They happen three times a year.  And it messes with your communications, your technology, and travel. So expect your widgets and gadgets and flights etc to break down next week. Here's the kicker, they last for about 2 and a half -three weeks at a time too.

I didn't want to just slap another of my tarot videos in the post, not today anyways. I do, however, have five or six more on my youtube that I did few months ago, and will be adding them over the course of things. With plans to make a few videos just for the movie blog. At some point...soon. Some of which will be cooking related.

Until then...I would say more, but I know I will start ranting about the fact NBC cancelled Constantine. So, I'll just end it here for today.

Tarot Talk episode 2

Spudguns!  I'm back, and here's another video I did back in February 2015. I talk about the lovers card and the devil card.

Tarot break

I've been thinking about how to bring some life back to this crypt, and I think sharing some of my tarot stuff might be a good start.
I've been doing some tarot videos the last few months, trying to improve my speaking skills, and just wanting to get back to doing videos in general. Here's the first one I did back in February 2015.

Coffin break 5:52pm

Have I told you all lately that I joined Food n Flix?  Once a month, a lucky blogger gets to host and pick a movie, and the rest of the group watches it, cooking/baking something that the movie inspired.

It's been going on for a few years, but I just started this past January. So far, for 2015 we've done Bridget Jones's Diary, Lady and the Tramp, The Quiet Man, Chef  and coming up in May, The Goonies.   I'm really looking forward to that one!

So if you want to see what kind of dishes I've been coming up with and what parts of the movie inspired me to do so, check out my movie blog more often.

And if you're in the Thunder Bay area, and would like to have a tarot reading done, drop me a comment on the movie blog...the comments on here are iffy at best.

And for those of you who remember when I used to do videos of movie reviews...I've got a post on the movie blog with a request question...

That's enough self promotion for this post.

Currently reading : Vittorio the Vampire  by Anne Rice
Currently watching: From Dusk till Dawn the series Season 1 on dvd
Currently listening to:  Momentum by Jamie Cullum
Currently favourite wrestler is: Seth Rollins

Holy turnbuckles batman!

Been wayyyyyy too long since I logged in here. But...I just saw the craziest thing.  A bunch of my screen captures and wrestling photos being used on wrestler fan-sites and profile pages.  Sort of cool when you think about it. And we're talking stuff from when I was first blogging about TNA- namely Mr. Shelley and Mr. Sabin.
Damn, I miss seeing them on weekly tv.

This tarot card has nothing to do with the topic at hand, just it's a rare photo of me taken last month.  On the topic of photos/screen shots...

Spudguns!  Most of you by now, I'm sure, are aware that my movie blog has become my main stay the last year or so.  And yes, I still talk about wrestling on my wrestling blog.

Speaking of title belts... okay we weren't but why not...I'm totally digging the fact that Seth Rollins has managed to get the title at maina. Dude! Love that!  Just wish he'd pick one colour and stick with it.

And if you don't follow my movie blog, you should because I joined Food n Flix this year, and every month a different movie is picked, and the lot of us watch it, then cook/bake something inspired by the movie.  So yes, my cooking is better then it used to be my lovely Spudguns!

That about covers it for now. Creeping Screams!

That's funny

You know your life is messed up when you can't find something you know you had yesterday.
I was looking for a recipe, knew it was in a particular cookbook, but could I find what I did with the book? No of course not. Spent half the morning going in circles on the book shelves looking and finally, found the damned thing under a pile of dvds. I know right.
Then, found the recipe and no use anyways, because I don't have half the ingredients in the kitchen and by that time I was not in the mood to track myself out to the store. So...pizza for supper tonight.

And then, I was thinking about this one vampire movie that I haven't seen in years, but know I have somewhere in my collection on vhs. Was thinking I should see about if it's available on dvd or something. Could not for the life of me remember the name of the movie. Knew it was still in a box somewhere packed. Spent a half hour hunting through three boxes of old vhs tapes, did not find it, took one look at the other twenty boxes it could be in and just gave up. Not in the mood to be going through old dusty things for a vhs tape that may or may not work in my ancient vhs player.
I remembered then, that I had done a list few years ago on an old website of all the vampire movies I had seen to that point. Pretty damn sad, I had to go to my own site that I haven't updated in about four years and hunt through an old list. Found the name of the movie finally!

Reign of Darkness from 2002.

Then I was thinking, damn, last movie on this list I did was Twilight. That was like what, five six years ago...something like that.

What a way to waste a day eh? At lest the ppv is in a few hours.

July 22nd 2014

So, it would seem, blogger is having issues today.  Don't know if it's a system crash, or a maintenance thing or what?
Most of my bloggy blogs are down, other people's are too.

With that said...hello my Spudguns! It's been a long while since I returned to blog on this blog, but my attentions have been elsewhere.

And...I'm moving! Apartments, that is.  By the end of the month, I'll be out of the evil hovel and into something a bit more user friendly.  If I don't kill myself from all the heavy lifting first.

Okay, just a note to A) see if the blogs are doing what they are suppose to and B) because I haven't blogged on here in a few months.

till later
